For nearly 25 years, John has been providing investment and portfolio management for his clients throughout the Northeast. John began his career working on Wall Street for W.J. Nolan, a municipal bond broker. He then worked at DeanWitter for 8 years before joining Advest, Inc, a regional brokerage firm in Hanover, NH. John earned his AAMS in 2004. After spending 6 years as a portfolio manager for SmithBarney, John determined it was time to start his own firm, in partnership with Tim Fisher, and formed Brendel & Fisher Wealth Management, LLC in April of 2011.
A graduate of St. Johns University, college of business administration, John earned his BA in Management and Marketing in 1983.
John is an accomplished sailor, and prior to entering the financial services industry was a yacht broker for Ventura Yachts, in Port Washington, New York. His sailing accolades are numerous having been a National Champion 7 times in the Shields class, and World Champion in International Offshore Rule class, in 1987 at St. Petersburg, Florida.
An avid skier, golfer, and motorboat enthusiast, John lives in Norwich, Vermont with his wife Megan, and his children, Addie and Jack.
John is a past member of the Norwich Lions, where he received the Melvin Jones Award in 2004 Additionally, John served as Chairman of the Norwich Fair for 8 years.
Tim's nearly 20 years of portfolio management and financial planning, was preceded by an interesting career trajectory. Unlike many in the financial services industry, Tim's passion for teaching and coaching, led him, after graduating from Middlebury College, into English teaching at Lebanon High School, and then ski coaching at Dartmouth College, where over a ten year span he guided 13 athletes to All-American status, coached two NCAA National Champions, and was honored in being asked to serve as one of the coaches of the U.S. Team at the World University games in Strebske Pleso, Czechoslovakia.
His entrepreneurial skills led him into real estate brokerage with Coldwell-Banker, Redpath, and then commercial real estate appraising with Valley Appraisal in Lebanon, where he began his interest and knowledge in investments and financial analysis.
Joining Advest, Inc. in 1995 he entered the financial planning and portfolio management field, earning his AAMS certification in 2005, and his CFP® designation in 2008. After working with Smith Barney for five years, Tim decided it was time to start his own firm. He joined John Brendel and formed Brendel & Fisher Wealth Management, where he currently offers comprehensive financial planning, retirement planning, portfolio management, trust and estate planning, as well as insurance and risk management services.
Tim currently serves on the board of the Zienzele Foundation, which supports HIV-AIDs orphans and their care givers in Zimbabwe. He also serves on the Board of the Upper Valley Music Center, which since 1995 has offered opportunities to musicians of all ages and playing abilities to engage in the study and performance of chamber music.
Tim has enjoyed involvement with the community of Lyme, NH where he has lived since 1982, with his wife, Prue, and four children, Jake, Nate, Ollie, and Addie. He has served on the Lyme Recreation Committee and coached Lyme soccer and baseball teams. He also served as a coach for the Ford Sayre Ski Club from 1989 - 1998.
His passions include skiing, hiking, travel, gardening, raising chickens, Christmas tree farming, bird hunting, golf and soccer. He is currently coach and player on Margaritas FC soccer team, where he claims to be the oldest and slowest, and arguably least valuable player on the team.
Brenda Fusco earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT in 1989. While attending The University of Connecticut, Brenda studied International Finance at The Tilburg University, Holland. Upon graduation, she worked at Fleet National Bank's headquarters in Providence, RI as an Internal Auditor before moving back to her home state of Connecticut to become the Finance Manager working between two Orthodontist's offices.
In 1994 Brenda moved on to work at Advo, a publicly traded Direct Mail Advertising Firm, as a Financial Analyst until her first child was born in 1997. Her second child was born in 1998 and, wanting to work from home, earned her certification in residential real estate appraising and began Interlakes Appraisal Services.
Once her children were older she found herself wanting to get back into the financial arena and began working at Smith Barney in Wolfeboro, NH in 2006. By 2007 Brenda earned both her Series 7 and her Series 66 thereby deeming her a Registered Representative. She left Smith Barney in 2011 to join Brendel & Fisher Wealth Management, LLC and assisted in the smooth transition of our clients from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to Brendel & Fisher Wealth Management. In addition she opened and operates the Wolfeboro office and services our clients' needs, assists in trades and in managing our clients' accounts.
Before moving to Norwich in 2011 and joining us in 2015, Jennifer detoured into education teaching French and history and pursued a lifelong dream of cooking and raising children in France.
Jennifer pursued religion/philosophy & anthropology at Bates College in Maine and the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka followed by MA work in history at Tufts University outside Boston. A Nordic skier, lover of wine and food, and alumna of NOLS and the Student Conservation Association [SCA] she is clearly happy with the rigors of New England winters as well as working and living in close-knit communities. Never quite able to leave history too far behind she has volunteered with the Vermont State, Barnard, Bethel & Norwich Historical Societies. She also spends time as a volunteer with WISE and as a board member of the Zienzele Foundation and the Norwich Historical Society.
